In March 2026, EUROGIP published a new study entitled ‘Prevention of Psychosocial Risks at Work : Overview of Legal Frameworks, Tools, and Prevention Measures in Europe and Internationally’. This is now available in English for international distribution.

Since the 2020 pandemic, mental health has emerged as a global issue, including in the workplace. Many countries are introducing a growing number of regulations and initiatives to better manage psychosocial risks at work (PSRs) that affect workers’ lives, the organisation of businesses and society at large. Stress, burnout, violence, harassment, isolation, workplace conflicts… How can they be prevented?

From the ‘trusted person in the workplace’ in Belgium to ‘centres for work-related psychological trauma’ in South Korea, this study presents initiatives for the prevention and management of psychosocial risks in:

  • 7 European countries: Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, France, Italy and Sweden;
  • 5 non-European countries: Australia, Canada, South Korea, the United States and Japan.

Among the key issues addressed, it examines the various national laws concerning employers’ obligations, the inclusion of psychosocial risks in risk assessments, the right to disconnect, and the management of violence and harassment at work.

This study therefore enables health and safety professionals, insurers and decision-makers to gain a better understanding of the various psychosocial risk factors, to comprehend the relevant legislation and to discover new practices implemented in other countries around the world.
