Work-related cancers: What recognition in Europe?
EUROGIP publishes the results of a new study on the possibility of recognising the work-related nature of cancers and on the number of cases recognised by occupational health and safety insurance organizations based on national data from twelve European countries.Eurogip publishes the results of a new study on the possibility of recognising the work-related nature of cancers and on the number of cases recognised by occupational health and safety insurance organizations based on national data from twelve European countries.
Following a classification of occupational exposures and of the exposed population, the report (52 pages) reviews cancers that could be recognised as work-related under the national lists of occupational diseases, but also under the off-list system. The largest part of the report is devoted to the 2000-2008 national statistics, through an overview and detailed national data. Lastly, the question of post-occupational monitoring of exposed workers is examined.

In the set of statistical data relating to accidents at work and occupational diseases in the European Union Member States, EUROGIP publishes data 2008 concerning France.This document sets out a descri pti ve synthesis of the main available statistical data about accidents at work, commuting accidents and occupational diseases of France. It comes from the use by EUROGIP of official publications. The data have been presented according to the EUROGIP’s knowledge of the analysed insurance system. These data have not been reprocessed by EUROGIP. Comments do not intend to give explanatory factors to the figures but only to describe the underlying system’s characteristics in order to allow the reader to analyse them.

Psychosocial risks at work: a European issue (in French only)
Eurogip has produced a thematic report on the subject of psychosocial risks at work as part of the work of the Policy Committee on Working Conditions (“Comité d’orientation sur les conditions de travail”). The document presents a (non-exhaustive) overview of prevention policies and activities at the level of the Community and the European Union Member States.

Occupational diseases in Europe – 1990-2006 statistical data and legal news
With experts of the European Forum of the insurance against accidents at work and occupational diseases, EUROGIP performed a new study on occupational diseases in Europe. The 8th EUROGIP’s report on this issue gives a statistical view on occupational diseases in 13 European countries – Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden – between 1990 and 2006.
It presents data relative to claims of recognition and recognised cases in 2006 and on the most frequent occupational diseases.

Employment and occupational health of senior citizens in Europe
Fall in the birth rate and the increase in life expectancy, resulting in a phenomenon of population ageing… The EU Member States are currently experiencing a major population upheaval. The aim of this report is to present a review of the current situation regarding employment of senior citizens in Europe, review the general policies designed to increase their occupational opportunities and present an overview of measures taken to increase their employment rate in the member countries of the European Union.
