DENMARK: number of injuries stable for 5 years

Home > The news of EUROGIP and occupational risks in Europe > DENMARK: number of injuries stable for 5 years

The Danish Working Environment Authority reports a total of 42,709 accidents at work in 2019. This number has remained virtually unchanged over the past five years. Fatal accidents have increased from 31 in 2018 to 36 in 2019.

For the 5th consecutive year, the water, wastewater and especially waste sector is the most sinister. The incidence – 468 accidents per 10,000 employees – is 3 times higher than the average. Next come construction and demolition, culture and sports, civil engineering and police, civil protection and prisons.

Studies have shown that all accidents are not reported and that labour inspection statistics would not reflect reality.
